The CHRISM MASS takes place in St Chad’s Cathedral, Birmingham, at 11.30 am






‘Just as the week has its beginning and climax in the celebration of Sunday, so the Easter Triduum is the summit and culmination of the whole liturgical year’



7.30 pm              Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper, followed by the Watch

at the Altar of Repose until 9.00 pm


GOOD FRIDAY [Day of Fasting and Abstinence]

3.00 pm            Celebration of the Lord’s Passion

7.30 pm            Stations of the Cross and Veneration of the relic of the True


Retiring Collection for the Holy Places (the churches, shrines, educational and medical

establishments administered by the Catholic Church in the Holy Land) at both services.




8.00 pm              The Easter Vigil

Please assemble outside for the Service of light, after which we process into the church for the Easter Proclamation (Exsultet) and the Virgil Readings.  During the Mass of the Resurrection of the Lord, there is the blessing of water and renewal of baptismal vows.



Confessions: Friday, 12.00-12.30 pm
