-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Please pray for the sick in our parish and for those who have died: Maria Onion; Sr Coletta; Mary Florence Higgins; Timothy Francis O’Sullivan (anniversaries).

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------As we enter the final phase of Lent and our thoughts turn more and more to the Passion of the Lord, we continue the custom of veiling all crucifixes and images, as a sign of mourning.  The crucifixes remain covered until after the Liturgy of Good Friday, the images until the Easter Vigil.  Votive candles are not burned before veiled images.

Next Sunday is Palm Sunday.  Weather permitting, the Sunday morning Mass will begin on the patch of grass outside the sacristy and church corridor, form where we shall process into church.

Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Maundy Thursday will be at 7.30 pm, followed by the Watching at the Altar of Repose until 9.00 pm.

The Liturgy of Good Friday will be at 3.00 pm, with Stations of the Cross and Veneration of the Relic of the True Cross at 7.30 pm.

The Easter Vigil, again weather permitting, will begin outside at 8.00 pm and lead into the Mass of the Resurrection.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------You will see that the windows at the west end of the church above the organ, which went away to be re-leaded, have now been returned and re-fitted and the scaffolding removed.  The total cost, including scaffolding, was £7,590.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Last week’s Collection: £485.60. Thank you.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Bible Study on Tuesday at 7.00 pm in the presbytery.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------If you would like to help decorate the church at Easter, please place your donation on the plate at the back of church.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Also at the back of church are the new sets of offertory envelopes.  If you do not currently donate using the envelopes, and would like a set, please see Fr Sharp.

Also at the back of church are some gift-aid forms and free bookmarks!

If you pay income tax, please consider gift-aiding your donations.  We are able to recover 25p for every £1 you give, and it costs you nothing extra.  Last year we were able to recover nearly £4,000 from the tax man in this way – that paid for the heating and lighting for the whole year.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Forty Days for Life is again holding a prayer vigil outside the Marie Stopes Abortion Centre in Edgbaston, Birmingham, from 14th February until 25th March.  Please see the leaflets at the back of church for more details.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------There will be a day on ‘Eucharist and the Family’ at the Maryvale Institute, Birmingham, on Saturday, 24th March.  See poster in the church porch for more details.
