Advance Notice.  We always try to give the church and sacristies a thorough clean in preparation for the feast of St Francis on 4th October.  This year, the clean will take place on Saturday, 30th September from 10.00 am onwards.  If you are able to come along with dusters, polish, etc. and give a hand, it will be much appreciated.

40 Days for Life will again be holding a vigil outside the Marie Stopes Abortion Clinic in Edgbaston, Birmingham, between 27 September and 5 November.  Please see the leaflets at the back of church for more details.  There will be a ‘kick-off event’ on Sunday, 24th September at 3.00 pm at the Birmingham Oratory at which Marie will give her story: ‘From 5 Abortions to Healing with Christ’ – see poster in the church porch.

Lord Jesus Christ, You are here

in the Holy Sacrament of the Altar,

present in the signs of bread and wine

to be our food and drink of eternal life.

You are the real Bread from Heaven,

giving us the Bread of Your own Body:

You are the real Wine from Heaven,

giving us the Wine of Your own Blood.

So come, Lord Jesus, in this Holy Sacrament,

and have mercy on me, a sinner:

feed me with Your own Life,

so that You are in me and I in You:

and be for me the Way that leads

to true and lasting life and happiness,

truly human life in all its fullness,

in the presence of God our Father.
